ENSCO, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Specialist to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) programs for the United States Space Force’s (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) headquartered in El Segundo, CA. This position, located on Peterson AFB in Colorado, will provide Life Cycle Logistics subject matter expertise, develop and/or evaluate Life Cycle Logistics documents and facilitate Life Cycle Logistics forums. We seek individuals who will thrive in a collaborative work environment of small teams tackling the challenges of sustaining complex communications systems.
.  Duties will include:

  • Evaluate and recommend equipment procurement and sustainment plans and strategies; recommend revisions to higher headquarters’ policies, procedures, practices, and regulations; establish, develop, and maintain working relationships with MILSATCOM stakeholders; assist in equipment configuration management; ensure equipment contract management meets requirements; assist in Logistics Health Assessments (LHAs); provide expert advice on complicated and sophisticated equipment; execute functional and physical configuration audits; interpret inspection findings and determine adequacy of corrective actions; and execute additional duties as assigned
  • Assist Sustaining Engineering Deficiency Report management; and assist Modification Proposal management
  • Assist provisioning activities, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) program, equipment dispositioning; and Item Unique Identification (IUID) program
  • Assist depot maintenance activation, maintain a Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) program; maintain an equipment Operational Suitability, Safety and Effectiveness (OSS&E) program; develop methods for improving operations and maintenance activities; and establish, develop, and maintain Corrosion Prevention & Control Plans
  • Assist the development of Special Packaging Instructions (SPI); and assist in the development of Mobility packaging
  • Execute Technical Order certification, verification, publication, modification, and maintenance; execute Time Compliance Technical Order development, publication, and completion verification; maintain an Automated Computer Program Identification Number (ACPIN) process; establish, develop, and maintain Technical Order Life Cycle Management Plans (TOLCMP); establish, develop, and maintain Technical Order Life Cycle Verification Plans (TOLCVP); establish, develop, and maintain Technical Manual Contract Requirements (TMCR); and assist in Technical Order actions through Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS) and Air Force Technical Order System (ATOS)
  • Provide technical training assistance to operational units in resolving complex system/equipment problems
  • Assist facilities and infrastructure modifications to accommodate equipment requirements
  • Assist in Technical Refresh activities
  • Travel required: approximately <5%

Qualifications Required (Skills) 

  • BS in technical field required engineering, math, physics, or equivalent
  • 10-15 years’ related experience as a United States Air Force Equipment Specialist
  • Capable of leading projects and teams, including the technical direction of other personnel and the setting of project standards and focus on critical path
  • Able to work autonomously with customers, define and develop operational/technical projects and be actively involved in the mentoring of more junior specialists
  • Microsoft Office – expert
