ENSCO, Inc. is seeking a Material Manager to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) programs for the United States Space Force’s (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) headquartered in El Segundo, CA. This position, located on Peterson AFB in Colorado, will execute supply chain management/ acquisition related processes including functional interfaces, item and system program management, requirements or item processing, provisioning, cataloging, procuring, budgeting, and funding processes. We seek individuals who will thrive in a collaborative work environment of small teams tackling the challenges of sustaining complex communications systems.  Duties will include:

  • Provide material management expertise, knowledge and network access. 
  • Assist in ordering processes.
  • Conduct material research and use records maintenance processes.
  • Assist in the Mission Capable (MICAP) process;
  • Use repair cycle processes.
  • Support War Reserve Materiel processes.
  • Support Readiness Spares Packages.
  • Assist in stock control processes.
  • Execute equipment management processes.
  • Execute materiel return processes.
  • Assist in materiel inquiries.
  • Assist in reject/management notice program.
  • Assist in degraded operations activities.
  • Assist in materiel inspection activities.
  • Conduct physical inventories.
  • Assist in packaging, handling, storage, and transportation processes and requirements development;
  • Assist operations and maintenance with bench stock, forward supply and equipment management actions.
  • Execute materiel management general tasks:
  • Execute materiel document control techniques
  • Property responsibilities
  • Request automated data processing equipment
  • Supply discrepancy reporting

Qualifications Required (Skills) 

  • BS in technical field required engineering, math, physics, or equivalent
  • 10-15 years related experience in United States Air Force materiel management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams, including the technical direction of other personnel and the setting of project standards and focus on critical path
  • Ability to work autonomously with customers, define and develop operational/technical projects and be actively involved in the mentoring of more junior specialists


Qualifications Desired 

  • MS in any field
  • >20 years’ in United States Air Force materiel management
  • >10 years’ domain experience with Space Operations (Command and Control)
  • Understanding of Space Operations C2 systems life cycle management
  • >5 years’ experience related to national stock listing, nomenclature designation, and provisioning
  • Air Force electronic publications - knowledgeable
  • Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS) - knowledgeable
  • Air Force Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS) – knowledgeable
  • Air Force Standard Base Supply System (SBSS) - expert
  • Air Force Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) - knowledgeable
  • Microsoft Project - knowledgeable
  • Satellite Operations - expert
  • Systems Engineering – knowledgeable
  • Integrated Life Cycle Management – expert
  • Operation of the Defense Acquisition System - expert

Division Description

The Aerospace Sciences and Engineering (ASE) Division is based in Cocoa Beach, Fla., with facilities and capabilities in Colorado Springs, Colo., and El Segundo, Calif. ASE’s primary focus is aerospace engineering, cyber security and meteorological systems.
