Description:

IC/USG has a mission need for additional support to enable and grow the existing automation efforts and drive forward our natural language processing efforts.

Work Requirement:

IC/USG seeks a Data Scientist who can focus on the IC/USG’s business analytics, metrics collection, and analysis efforts to assist IC/USG’s management team in addressing questions on IC/USG’s work force characteristics, workforce productivity and output, and the value of reporting to the workforce. Responsibilities include, working directly with the USG and other stakeholders to establish working data sets, configurations, and profiles to support metrics analysis. In addition, you will design and implement advanced design configurations for complex data sets. As part of that work, you will compile data analysis and reporting needs using deployed tools and collaborate closely with IC/USG and other stakeholders to stay current and abreast of changes with current enterprise metadata collection tools. As part of the position, you will also produce ad hoc reports/metrics as deemed necessary to answer immediate needs, while implementing IC/USG’s coordination process.

Skills Required:

1. 5+ years experience using Python 

2. Experience with analytic methods and methodological tools in one or more of the following areas: applied mathematics, probability and statistics, data modeling

3. Experience using Microsoft Excel for data manipulation; using formulas, look ups, pivot tables.

4. Experience with SQL in Oracle.

5. Experience translating complex, technical findings into a narrative (i.e., tell a story with the data) in graphical, verbal, or written form.

6. Experience working with diverse data types.

7. Experience with version control systems, such as 'Github'.

8. Knowledge (or experience) with data science techniques or formal data science training.

 

Optional Skills:

1. Experience with developing data visualizations.

2. Experience with creative problem solving skills to address procedural and administrative issues within the assigned problem set.

3. Experience with web analytics processing and procedures.

4. Familiarity with Amazon Web Servicers (AWS) infrastructure and its native data science capabilities.
