Windows System Administrator

Description:

USG requires the support of four full-time system administrators with different focus areas to support ongoing technical programs with varying hours. Four systems administrators, one Contractor will focus on Linux environments, another Contractor will focus on Windows server operating systems.

Work Requirement:

Windows System Administrator - You will be responsible for maintaining, scheduling, executing software and hardware upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations, identifying and troubleshooting hardware and software issues with workstations and servers, and continuous system monitoring. You will demonstrate the ability to create and maintain detailed documentation, to participate in group collaboration/project planning, and effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels within the organization.

Linus System Administrator - You will be responsible for maintaining, scheduling, executing software and hardware upgraes, patches, and reconfigurations, identifying and troubleshooting hardware and software issues with workstations and servers, and continuous system monitoring. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to create and maintain detailed documentation, participate in group collaboration/project planning, and effectively comunicate issues and resolutions to all levels within the organization.

System Administrator - You will support a second shift schedule, 5 days a week (Monday - Friday), 1200 - 2000 or 1300 - 2100, as well as occasional off-hours support. You will be responsible for proactively monitoring network devices, services, and servers, collection and review of network data, interacting with vendors (to include service providers), and providing end user support and resolutions. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to create and maintain detailed network documentation for configuration management. You will participate in group collaboration/project planning, and effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all elvels within the organization.

Skills Required:

  • Experience with Windows domain setup, group policy, and user account administration.
  • Experience with Linux administration to include familiarity with troubleshooting network, local storage, and programs/utilities issues.
  • Demonstrated working understanding of IPtables, tcpdump, OpenVPN.
  • Experience with virtualization with vSphere (vCenter/ESXi hosts).
  • Experience troubleshooting virtual machine/operating systems in virtual environments.
  • Experience creating, updating, and executing basic scripting with batch, PowerShell, BASH, Python.
  • Experience with cloud service providers and administration (i.e. Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Cloud Formation, etc.
  • Experience with Cisco and Juniper networking equipment focused on maintenance and upgrades.
  • Experience with the OSI model, particularly Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies such as VLAN's, port security, 802.1Q, IP subnets, IP routing, VRF and BGP.
  • Experience with network security, using IPSEC and Open VPN tunneling.
  • Experience maintaining Access Control Lists and zone based firewalls.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as Whatsup Gold, Solarwinds, etc.
  • Experience in Network Administration focused on operational/mission-specific networks.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Ubuntu 14/16.

Certifications:

  • RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
  • Cisco CCNA-Security or any other CCNA and/or CISSP.
  • JNCIA-SEC or any other JNCIA.
