The Data Curation Specialist will work with a team of highly motivated data professionals to optimize the flow of data and capture of metadata in the data lake environment to maintain quality and integrity of enterprise data sources. The resource will provide high-quality business data integration service to our customer base that promote discovery, analysis and decision-making. Apply metadata principles to streamline the collection, organization, sharing of data to make it understandable and trustworthy. Additionally, this resource will be expected to profile, cleanse and curate data to support customers’ analytical objectives to build out business intelligence reports and dashboards.

This resource will be working directly with Data Stewards, Pipeline Engineers and customers to define the requirements and business rules needed to transform master, transactional, and reference data into analytical data objects and promote reusability.

Job Requirementstop

• Lead integration of business data and enrichment of metadata.
• Support the configuration of data models, analytics, reports, and visualizations.
• Provide metadata SME to project data architects, modeling, analytics, integration, etc.
• Support compliance of data governance and data management standards.
• Mentor and coach data governance staff.
• Contribute to data stewardship workgroups and teams in data management and governance activities. Champion metadata and data quality practices across A4 – leading lunch ‘n’ learn sessions, knowledge sharing sessions, etc.
• Maintain the group focus; lead discussion toward stated goals and manage the group dynamics in facilitating working sessions with Data Stewards, business subject matter experts (SMEs), and management teams.
• Perform analysis and research to support and/or develop glossary definitions, policies, programs, standards, guidelines and workflows.
• Gain an understanding of the stakeholder’s business culture and priorities, and the need for different modeling techniques when eliciting definitions and data quality requirements.

Skills Required:

• Ability to develop medium to complex business rules using data profiling techniques or metadata analysis processes with industry leading tool such as Alation, Collabra, NiFi, or Informatica.
• Ability to gather and analyze internal application data needs by means of interviews, workflow analyses and facilitated discussions with users.
• Ability to translate data needs into detailed functional and technical designs for development, testing and implementation.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders at different levels.
• Ability to manage multiple medium to large scale projects.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries

Technical Skills Required:

Minimum Level of Education: BS Degree

Security Clearance Requirements: Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain.
