KaylaTek is seeking a Junior Network Administrator to support the AFNCR IT support contract at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling (JBAB) Washington DC

Certifications Required: Security + CE or CCNP Security Certification

Security Clearance Required: Secret (final adjudicated)

Location: Joint Base Anacostia Bolling (JBAB), Washington DC (100% on site)

Shift Hours: Day-Shift; core support hours are 0600 -1800. This is a 24/7/365 support environment; off-hours response/support may be required, however only standard M-F core hours working time for current position.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor data or infrastructure system networks for various messages, alarms, or issues.
  • Identify issues or problems and resolves as appropriate; escalates when necessary.
  • Troubleshoot problems using scripts and standard, routine procedures; escalates as appropriate.
  • Initiate resolution as appropriate for enterprise level routers and switches.
  • Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
  • Process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI's) as directed by management.
  • Maintain required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoD and local command mandates and requirements, including updates, STIGs, IOS upgrades, and other basic network security requirements.
  • Install, configure, and maintain encryption devices (KG‐175D, KG-250x, KG-175G, etc.) at network points of presence including management via GEM-X.
  • Support special projects and day‐to‐day operations as needed or assigned by the site lead
  • Support on-call rotation schedule

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2+ years of related experience, additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Currently possess a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Active CompTIA Security + or CCNP Security certification
  • Knowledge of LAN switching, including Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), VLAN Trunk Protocol (VTP), Port Security, Spanning Tree, and Layer 2 and 3 switching configurations.
  • Understanding of Layer 3 routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, etc.) and best practices on implementation.
  • Familiar with programming, maintaining and troubleshooting encryption devices (KG‐175D, KG-250x, KG-175G, etc.) at network points of presence including management via GEM-X.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with DoD COMSEC management processes and procedures
  • Familiar with Cisco ISE, Cisco Prime and Cisco DNA
  • Experience working at the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB)
  • Knowledge of Air Force, Pentagon, and/or AFNCR
