We are seeking multiple Data Analyst Engineers for levels (V & VI) to help staff our product and sustainment team on a five (5) year Navy contract. These positions require a background in electrical engineering and fabrication or similar while having the ability to work in a fast-paced environment that will require some information technology knowledge. The candidate must meet deadlines while remaining a team player by providing support and assistance to the other teammates to promote a CAN-DO attitude-style culture. Qualifications:

Must haves:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen
  • IAT Level 1 Certification
  • Hold a Secret Level Clearance
  • Minimum of six (6) years experience with degree/formal training to twelve (12) years with HS/GED of practical experience to include: design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings.
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program; or High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities are not limited to:

  • Use technical skills to improve the efficiency of the company.
  • Identify potential equipment problems and provide solutions.
  • Arranges for fabrication of pilot models and determine test procedures and design of special test equipment.
  • Individual shall be capable of independently planning and accomplishing complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity, or serving as an expert in a narrow aspect of a particular field of engineering, e.g., environmental factors affecting electronic engineering.
  • Performing duties: designs develops, and constructs major units, devices, or equipment; conducts tests or experiments; analyzes results and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance
  • Shall conduct production support by monitoring and providing the necessary research to support the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual software runs.
  • Shall provide production system operational support on a 24-hour day, 7-day-per-week (24x7) basis as needed. Response time to after-hour support calls should be within 2 hours.
  • Shall manage data communications connectivity and ensure functionality is maintained and personnel/pay issues are minimized during the absorption of a DoD system into unique Navy personnel, finance, and manpower computer systems.
  • Shall provide INFORMATION SYSTEMS SERVICE SUPPORT
  • Shall be responsible for providing technical support for the maintenance of production control databases/master.
  • Shall be responsible for providing integration, management, and coordination for the scheduling, recovery, and distribution of Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) software on all Information Technology Services integrated processors.
  • Shall be responsible for providing guidance and recommendations to NIWC Atlantic, New Orleans Office management concerning ongoing issues affecting production processing and the ability to meet published Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Shall be able to detect and resolve issues that occur with the transfer and processing of the information on both mainframe and server-based/cloud systems.
  • Shall research and resolve production problems where resolution may require contact with vendors, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) computer system service provider, and Government. Shall document these instances, corrective actions are taken, and recommendations for preventative actions to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Shall support execution of the NIWC Atlantic New Orleans Hurricane Preparedness Plan which outlines essential personnel, along with targeted work location in the event of a disaster.
  • Shall support the implementation of the NIWC Atlantic New Orleans Office Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan including the monitoring of the line of business systems after a transition of the system from the primary to the secondary site.
  • Shall modify database tables, data elements, scripts, and triggers in support of the approved change request effort.
  • Shall maintain the physical database architecture and maintain the database for development and test environment with the assistance of the Data Center Database Administrator.
