JSC is home to America s astronauts and primary location for human space flight.   Aerospace s Human Exploration and Space Flight (HESF) Division has a primary role in the planning, coordination, and execution of NASA s EVA missions for the International Space Station (ISS) and future missions to the moon and Mars.  The EVA Project Support Specialist provides direct support to the EVA Office at JSC.

What You ll Be Doing

  • The Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Program, Planning, and Control Office provides EVA planning and control services for ISS. It s a primary component of the EVA Office
  • Provide expertise in the planning, coordination, and execution of the Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) process.
  • Conduct planning, analysis, and surveillance of the Extravehicular Activity (EVA) engineering/program policies and functional execution.
  • Provide meeting coordination support for EVA Office meetings including coordination of meeting agenda, presenters, presentation materials, meeting execution, action recording and tracking, and meeting minutes.
  • Provide tracking and status reporting of actions assigned to EVA personnel by external organizations, especially International Space Station (ISS) boards and panels.
  • Provide expertise in identification, problem solving and resolution of CM and DM issues across the EVA Office.
  • Develop Integration plans to link processes, milestones, forums, and action item management.
  • Perform technical document Quality Assurance.
  • Perform CM planning, execution, change/improvement process, audits/verification activities.
  • Ensure all CM/DM data and records are accurate and timely archived via the EVA data management system.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience with NASA programs
  • Experience performing configuration management for NASA programs/projects
  • Experience in coordinating and integrating CM for multiple documents in parallel
  • Experience with configuration management tools
  • Experience with records management requirements
  • Experience with Document Quality Assurance (DQA) and other document management functions
  • Ability to work within a team environment, where the team is distributed across multiple NASA Organizations, Projects, and Programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Travel is not required.
  • An Aerospace corporate requirement, as a security clearance is not required for this position
