What will you do?

Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking a Material Control Specialist. This position is located in our Fairfax, Virginia, headquarters building.  There may be occasional travel to locations in Melbourne, Florida; Baltimore, Maryland; or other locations as needed.

The successful applicant will become part of a world class team and work collaboratively with an outstanding group of geographically dispersed employees to support development and production of advanced electronic systems for the DoD and other customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of material management from delivery of packages to material inventory issuance at Azure Summit Technology facility.  The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, changing priorities, and a team environment. 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Receives and unpacks materials and supplies
  • Verifies received packages against packing list for accurate shipped count, damages, and supplier-provided certificates, and documents/stamps material requiring specific requirement
  • Processes receipts, inspections, and vendor returns against purchase orders
  • Applies policies and processes that affect product in accordance with quality procedures
  • Segregate, safeguard, properly mark non-conforming material, and initiate disposition instructions
  • Ensure all customer- and company-owned material is properly stored in assigned warehouse inventory location
  • Performs Physical and Cycle Counts, investigates inaccuracies, and makes inventory adjustments as directed
  • Assists with manufacturing orders management; specifically compute material requirements, shortages reports, and manufacturing order reliefs
  • Releases material to production in accordance with manufacturing requirements by means of inventory PAO issues and manufacturing orders
  • Executes inventory project transfers and enters miscellaneous receipts in accordance with approved documents or instructions
  • Assists Material Management with Government Furnished Equipment and Azure Test Equipment
  • Keeps working area neat, clean, and orderly

Basic Requirements

  • US citizenship, due to the nature of the work and contract requirement
  • Ability to obtain a TOP SECRET security clearance, due to the nature of the work and contract requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering or Manufacturing Industry or equivalent experience
  • Experience utilizing Deltek Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Costpoint system with emphasis on Materials module and understands the hierarchical structure of domains and applications
  • Minimum 5 years’ direct user-experience in Costpoint Receiving, Inventory, Production Control modules
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience working in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, production, or materials planning environment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant Costpoint Materials end-user knowhow
  • 10 years’ experience working in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, production, or materials planning environment
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Understanding of the Procurement Planning and Purchasing modules in Deltek
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Able to transport, store, and relocate material using Dollies, manual or electronic powered Pallet Jacks and Stackers
