What do we do?

Azure Summit Technology provides a wide range of multi-channel, software-defined radio solutions for applications including surveillance, communications, radar, direction finding, emitter location, and interference cancellation. Systems can be tailored to meet a variety of requirements for bandwidth, dynamic range, number of channels, and computational resources. Supported platforms range from resource-constrained small UAVs and wearable devices to manned aircraft and submarines. Azure also offers innovative signal processing solutions to challenging problems in the realm of radio frequency spectrum awareness. 

What will you do?

Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team.  This position is located at our Melbourne, FL, facility.  Your future team has worked together to produce the following job description:

Responsibilities for this job may include: 

  • Conducts producibility analysis on new and existing technical data packages
  • Develops the manufacturing plan architecture and implements continuous improvements
  • Optimizes facility layouts to ensure throughput requirements are met
  • Directly supports manufacturing personnel with assembly and integration issues
  • Dispositions hardware nonconformances
  • Creates and updates manufacturing work instructions
  • Solicits input from production personnel and implements improvements
  • Redlines drawings, test procedures, work instructions and other engineering media
  • Supports the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process and assesses changes for manufacturing impact
  • Deploys lean best practices
  • Provides guidance and on job training to personnel on manufacturing best practices
  • Designs and implements tooling to support production activities
  • Reduces cost and improves quality using RCCA, Lean, and Six Sigma techniques 

Basic Requirements

- US citizenship, due to the nature of the work and contract requirement

- Active DoD SECRET security clearance, due to contract requirement

- 3 years’ experience working in an engineering discipline supporting manufacturing

- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or another relevant field 

Preferred Qualifications

- Active TS/SCI Clearance

- Master’s in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or another relevant field

- 5+ years’ experience in an engineering role defining, implementing, and sustaining a manufacturing build architecture

- Experience using CAD based engineering and design software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.)

- Proven experience with root cause corrective action and improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, quality improvements and increased customer satisfaction

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers
