Azure Summit Technology provides a wide range of multi-channel, software-defined radio solutions for applications including surveillance, communications, radar, direction finding, emitter location, and interference cancellation. Systems can be tailored to meet a variety of requirements for bandwidth, dynamic range, number of channels, and computational resources. Supported platforms range from resource-constrained small UAVs and wearable devices to manned aircraft and submarines. What will you do?

Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking a Software Automation Test Engineer. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team.  This position can be performed remotely with the expectation that you will travel as needed at least once per quarter. Your future team has worked together to produce the following job description: 

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting automated production processes and software tasks at our Melbourne and Baltimore offices.  The candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated RF system test software to comprehensively test and characterize complex functionality associated with Azure’s high-performance software-defined radio transceiver and related prototype and production technologies and systems.  The candidate will work with Azure’s engineering team to develop test software to characterize the performance of new technologies and systems and to validate that designs meet established requirements and objectives.  The candidate will work with Azure’s production team to develop highly automated test protocol (ATP) software and user interfaces (UIs) that are used to test production items for acceptance and delivery to customers, and to develop custom test software to facilitate root cause failure analysis and the development of corrective action, and to continuously improve automated test software to test for identified failures prior to delivery. This position may also involve engineering rotation assignments in independent research and development, production, RF design and development, software engineering, and systems engineering based on business needs.  

Basic Requirements

- US citizenship, Dutdue to nature of the work and contract requirement
- Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance due to contract requirement
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, computer, or electrical engineering or equivalent degree or experience

- Minimum 5 years’ experience with C/C++ and/or Python 

Preferred Qualifications

- SECRET security clearance, due to contract requirement

- Minimum 5 years’ experience writing production process automation software
- Previous software engineering experience with digital signal processing, algorithm development, modeling and simulation using C/C++, Python, and MATLAB
- Experience developing software code to control test equipment and RF hardware for automated testing
- Experience developing HW/SW test sets for automated testing of production hardware
- Experience with Linux software development

- Experience using JIRA or similar software tool for bug/issue tracking and project management
- Proficiency with developing, maintaining, and using spreadsheet data in Microsoft Excel or similar tools for data collection, analysis, and tracking
- Previous experience using HTML, JavaScript, and Labview
- Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent degree
- Previous experience using a signal generator, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, and oscilloscope to debug RF analog and digital circuits 
- Experience using block diagrams and schematics to understand RF/electrical circuits
- Experience reading and understanding schematics and layouts

- Previous experience with ARM processors and SoC systems
