Position Description:

NS2 Mission is seeking Systems Engineers to support our team and project in Sterling, VA. 

The Systems Engineers will be responsible for applying interdisciplinary engineering skills in the technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for complex solutions or products.  Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.  

Positions Responsibilities:

• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.   
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into technical solutions and continuously validate those solutions through delivery.
• Assisting more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions.
• Works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.
• May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
• Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs.
• Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff.
• Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for mission critical challenges/issues.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Years of experience desired for each level Systems Engineer:Experience developing engineering applications and solutions.
  • Senior - 7 years of experience required
  • SME - 12 years of experience required
• Demonstrated project development and leadership skills.
• Solid understanding of systems engineer best practices.
• Professional experience and a high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications.
• Ability to work together with teams from several departments to facilitate the orderly execution of the proposed project plan.
• Navy SSEE experience desired 

Position Clearance Requirement:

 TS/SCI
