Responsibilities

Program Description:

The program provides Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) core and non-core support in the areas of Cyber Security and Management to improve the Information Assurance (IA) posture of a National customer. The contracts Core Capabilities are: IA Management, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) coordination and reporting, Risk Management Framework (RMF) application, IA compliance measurements and metrics, Assessment and Authorization (A&A), Vulnerability Management, and Cyber Defense support.

Position Description:
The Cyber Heat Map Engineer provides support to the customer in the area of Cybersecurity. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Works as part of a small team of engineers responsible for evaluation of risk posture based on multiple factors and then communicate that risk posture to leaders, decision makers and other stakeholders
  • Develop process improvement activities that will improve the accuracy of the heat map as well as simplify, through automation or other means, generation of the heat map
  • Develop metrics that can be used to effectively communicate to all stakeholders the risk posture of the enterprise and/or asset(s)
  • Using metrics, evaluate and identify trends that could be communicated to all stakeholders to better the risk posture of the enterprise
  • Develop and communicate weekly IA Risk Posture CDRL
  • Provide tutorials of Cyber Heat Map scoring process to increase IA stakeholders understanding
  • Coordinate IA Risk Score changes with all customers to ensure accuracy of data used for calculation
  • Brief IA risk analysis to high-level customers

 

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • 6 to 8 years with BS/BA or 4 to 6 years with MS/MA or 1 to 3 years with PhD.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly
  • DoD 8570 certification in IAT or IAM
  • Ability to work customer’s core hours (0900 – 1500 Monday – Friday)
  • Strong analytic and risk management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of and experience with RMF
  • Knowledge of and experience with systems engineering, acquisition, and program management processes
  • Experience leading a team, socializing ideas, and providing information for informed decisions based on requirements and team recommendations
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

 

Desired:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or an advanced IA certification (i.e. CISSP or CASP)
  • Experience briefing senior customer personnel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous customer requests in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Experience with ServiceNow and Tableau
  • Experience supporting IC or DoD in the Cyber Security Domain Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft tools; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
