Responsibilities

Program Description:

The program provides Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) core and non-core support in the areas of Cyber Security and Management to improve the Information Assurance (IA) posture of a National customer. The contracts Core Capabilities are: IA Management, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) coordination and reporting, Risk Management Framework (RMF) application, IA compliance measurements and metrics, Assessment and Authorization (A&A), Vulnerability Management, and Cyber Defense support.

 

Position Description:

The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) provides support to the customer in the area of system security requirements. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze security policies and procedures
  • Prepares assessments and cyber threat profiles of current and planned products based on sophisticated testing, research, and analysis
  • Define information Security polices and procedures for the program
  • Perform as an expert to provide technical cyber security guidance for the program based on documented policy(s) and regulations
  • Perform both malicious code and intrusion detection support
  • Investigate system incidents to determine both root cause and risk
  • Determine causes of security breaches and researches, recommends, and implements changes to procedures to protect from future violations; provide recommendations for mitigating issues
  • Ensure products and systems comply with requirements and information assurance and cyber security standards and practices through formal verification methods
  • Assist in the design of a strong security operations program and an effective continuity plan
  • Provides both program security oversight and direction
  • Assist team members with project objectives requiring new or improved information security devices or systems
  • Provide or inform on IT security engineering solutions
  • Produce high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior managers, stakeholders and technical team

Qualifications






  • Demonstrated experience with thread analysis and security auditing
  • Demonstrated experience establishing standards for information systems procedures
  • Demonstrated experience translating customer requirements into solutions
  • Demonstrated experience creating security concepts for various projects
  • Demonstrated experience sharing expertise across organization boundaries
  • Demonstrated experience with both analyzing and solving complex problems
  • Demonstrated experience with both organizational skills and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience writing technical documents that address complex issues
  • Possess a strong foundation in policy and regulations governing information security / privacy, and information assurance utilized
  • Possess current security certification;  Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or Government Security Engineer Certification (GESC)
  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience, 3 years with Sponsor
  • Active TS/SCI w/ poly
