Job Summary:
As a Technical Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, evaluation, and integration of computer information systems and networks to maintain system security. The position involves deploying and installing server hardware across the United States, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring seamless integration into existing infrastructure. You will also contribute to securing client data and identifying potential improvements to deployment processes and methodologies.


Responsibilities:
Apply current technologies to design and integrate computer information systems and networks while maintaining system security.
Travel up to 40% of the time to support hardware deployments.
Coordinate with key stakeholders to facilitate the deployment and installation of server hardware across the United States.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of servers into existing infrastructure.
Address a wide range of security issues, including secure architectures, network security, information security, and privacy.
Ensure the protection of client data against unauthorized disclosure, loss, or modification.
Provide timely updates on work progress, material availability, and potential delivery issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting enhancements to deployment processes.

Required Skills:
Experience with one or more of the following: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Windows, KVM, SharePoint, Citrix, COTS Security Devices.
Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and configuring operating systems, applications, and systems.
Familiarity with network protection devices, such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, log analysis, malware analysis, and network traffic flow.
Knowledge and understanding of operating systems, networks, and services.
Ability to manage changes to systems and assess their security impact.
Familiarity with TCP/IP, Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and taps.
Strong ability to work independently on multiple assigned tasks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Strong team player.
Proficiency with MS Office Applications.
Additional Job Requirements:
Active Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain DHS program suitability prior to starting employment.
Capability to lift at least 70 pounds repeatedly.
Willingness to travel within the United States, Territories & Possessions, as required.


Desired Certifications:
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
CompTIA Certifications (A+, Net+, Sec+).
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).


Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Four (4) or more years of technical support experience required.

This is not a telework position. Work is performed at our lab located in Dulles, VA.
