Jobs that require Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance are a career for those with integrity and unrelenting allegiance to the country. Individuals with a TS/SCI clearance help protect the nation by safeguarding the confidentiality of classified information that could potentially compromise national security if they fall into the hands of the enemies of the state.
The United States Department of Defense (DoD) gathers Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) from highly classified intelligence sources, processes, and/or methods. This type of information must be handled only within areas that implement strict access control systems created by the Director of National Defense. Thus, individuals looking for jobs with TS/SCI clearance can expect to undergo a rigorous hiring process.
Personnel with jobs that handle sensitive information are granted different levels of security clearance, the highest of which is Top Secret (TS). Other TS/SCI jobs or classified programs may require additional clearances called Special Access Programs.
Candidates for TS/SCI jobs cannot obtain a TS/SCI clearance by themselves. The prospective employer must sponsor them to get jobs that require a TS/SCI clearance.
The candidates for jobs that require TS/SCI should expect an intensive hiring process. After several interviews, they will go through a clearance process which includes a polygraph test. This is to help investigators to better understand the candidates’ integrity and character. Follow up interviews may be conducted to address discrepancies that may be discovered during the background check.
Individuals who are up for the challenge are invited to register for jobs requiring a TS/SCI clearance today.
